NO SLOWING DOWN THE CHICAGO SNOW SEASON As the saying goes, you don’t need a weatherman to know which way the wind blows. And you probably don’t need one to figure out it’s going to be another wet, cold, and snowy season here in the Chicago area. If you took your kids out trick or treating this year, you may have already had a (very) early season opportunity to round up all your mitts and boots.
That early warning made us take a take a look at some longer-term forecasts, and we thought we’d share what we found with our Fully Equipped readers — just in case you need a new pair of mitts too. Snow getting underway in late October and early November feels like it may become the new normal, with the added benefit (it’s all in how you look at this stuff) for plowing potential starting earlier and running hard pretty consistently through the early spring.

On October 4th, the Chicagoland area received the 3rd earliest snow in history. We saw frost this weekend, and some of us had to throw on a couple of added layers to stay warm.
