WHEN DUCT TAPE WON’T DO… Nothing pokes a hole in an otherwise productive day like a leaky hydraulic hose. And whatever miracles the stuff might perform throughout the rest of the universe, you know Duct Tape just isn’t going to cut it. (Hey, leave that stuff for the family car!) …Of course, we kid, BUT: for the machines you use to run your business and serve your customers, there’s just no substitute for a full-length crimp, total-pro hose repair. At Martin Implement, we’re happy to let you know, we’re now doing those repairs in-house.
WHILE YOU WAIT, WE REPAIR We’ve recently procured a state of the art, Parkrimp hose repair machine. This beauty enables us to restore almost any hose to like-new look and capability. Most repairs can be accomplished in 30 minutes or less. So if your skid steer, wheel loader, or excavator needs a perfectly crimped new hose, bring it on in to Martin Implement — and scan our magazine table! — while your hose is remade to perfection.
Note that there are a few specialty hoses we’ll still need to send out, but the Parkrimp will very likely be the answer for your leaky hose. (If you have a unique hose, just call us and we’ll let you know if we can handle it.)

Associated Equipment Distributors (AED) has technical assessments that will assist you in measuring the skills of existing service techs or job applicants. The assessments are tailored to meet the needs of the equipment industry. We use the assessments up front in the hiring process to help us make the right hire.
The questions on the assessment evaluate technicians’ knowledge in subject areas such as diesel engine, power trains, hydraulics/hydrostatics, and more. They were created by a team of technical experts broadly representing, manufacturers, dealers and technical colleges with equipment programs and are aligned with AED National Construction Equipment Technical Standards. AED has created an informational video on their technical assessments program that was filmed at Martin Implement’s dealership. Click here to view.
Meet the Martins is a chance for our friends and customers to get to know our company a little better. It serves as a means of putting a face to our organization. In this segment, we’ll head over to our service department and meet Andy Gustafson.
Chances are you’ve seen Andy behind the wheel of our delivery truck since he’s been traversing the roads for us since 1994. In addition to knowing our service area like the back of his hand, Andy’s maintained an exemplary safety record; ensuring that equipment is not only delivered in a timely fashion, but also without incident. Because of his focus and versatility, Andy is a significant contributor to our Martin team, and another reason why the company stays pointed in the right direction, so to speak! Continue reading →
Meet the Martins is a chance for our friends and customers to get to know our company a little better. It serves as a means of putting a face to our organization. In this segment, we’ll head over to our service department and meet Brian Vaughan.
Befitting an earlier career as a carpenter, Brian has a passion for constructing things. That’s why when Brian joined Martin Implement’s South Elgin branch in 2009, he had already mastered the challenges of an equipment service technician due in large part to his analytic mind and nine years turning wrenches at the Payline West dealership. With his experience and know-how, Brian’s able to work on anything that comes through the doors of our shop. In a profession being rapidly shaped by technology, Brian continually remains ahead of the curve and is an admirable mentor to our newest team members. Continue reading →
