“THE RIGHT TOOL FOR THE JOB” It’s the oldest (and best) advice in the book: get the right tool for the job, and EVERYTHING goes smoother. And when you have weeds and brush that are already creeping above knee-level, even the best platform mowers will sputter. This is a job for a brush cutter / rotary mower — and the easiest way to plow through the tall stuff is attaching one of these machines to your skid steer. Great power, maneuverability, and superior safety.
“LIKE GOING DOWNTOWN” One of the great things about being a landscape professional is the immense satisfaction of seeing the “before and after” for yourself. First, you survey the unkempt wilds, then you leave perfectly coiffed greenspaces in your wake. (A little bit like running the barber shop on an Army base.) But the result is not even half the fun of running through the brush and watching all those lousy weeds trembling in your path. If you’ve done it yourself, you know: it’s like the Midwestern version of snowboarding.
If you haven’t run a brush cutter with a skid steer yet, check out this quick video we shot while taking no prisoners on our back 40. Serious fun, and yes, people will actually pay you for it…
The 2019 APWA Chicago Metro Chapter Expo and Conference is happening next week in Villa Park starting May 22nd. It’s your chance to visit the latest and greatest equipment, people and technologies in Public Works, connect with friends, and take in the educational program topics lined up for you. We’ll be there, so say hello and spend some time with us. We’ll have equipment from New Holland and Kubota at our booth.
The Loader Roadeo promises to be a must-see this year. All drivers will be entered in a raffle for a chance to win great prizes. The Loader Roadeo competition is happening on Wednesday, and the NEW Backhoe Roadeo as well. Skilled drivers tackle the obstacle courses laid out for them in either front-end loaders or backhoe loaders. You’ll see one of the latest Hyundai wheel loader models battle it out on the front end loader courses again this year! And we’ll have a fierce New Holland backhoe take on the backhoe courses. Snowplow Roadeo? Of course! That’s on Thursday.

LABOR SAVING ALL STAR, CLEAN UP HITTER Even All Star teams have stars. And the Finn Bark and Mulch Blowers may just be the MVP in our labor saving devices line-up. The Finn BB-5 and its sidekick, the BB-302, are both total-game-changers when it comes to getting mulch, bark, and compost in place. With these Finn sluggers in your lineup, a tedious job of load / move / unload / tamp / rake & level turns into something a lot more like spray painting a surface.
For the past 63 plus Smokers, CCA has served up fantastic eats surrounded by a mound of door prizes; this year is expected to be no exception. I’ll be fun to catch up with everyone. Martin Implement, Toro and Kubota hope to see you there!

The Toro Dingo line is an all-time favorite here at Martin Implement. This is a machine that’s so easy to use, and at the same time, so powerful and versatile, it’s hard to imagine what life was like before these doggies showed up in our lives. And now there’s a new leader of the pack, the DINGO TXL 2000.
S – T – R – E – T – C – H – ! There are two versions of the radial lift TXL 2000: the version pictured, with Telescoping Arms, has an incredible reach of just over 10 feet. (A 123.4″ hinge-pin height, to be exact). That means you can easily clear the side of a standard dump truck, or backfill behind a retaining wall. With a full 44” of telescoped reach, you can also completely unload a flat-bed truck from one side. The Non-Telescoping version is no slouch either: with a hinge-pin height of 98.6″and a dump height of 64.1″. Either way, you…can…put it on the board: the new TXL 2000 takes the stand-up skid-steer category to new levels of productivity and versatility.
MASTERS OF MULTI-TASKING There are some machines that seem to “come out of the bullpen” day after day. Ready for anything. Nimble, powerful, adaptable, and so easy to jump on and use that you find yourself becoming attached to the things. That’s pretty much the whole plot with Toro Dingo lineup: the new TXL 2000, the TX1000 (wide and narrow), and the TX525 and TX427. The more you use them…the more uses you discover.
YOU SURE CAN GET ATTACHED TO THESE DINGOS… The stand-and-drive setup is always easy and efficient, and our customers have always loved the simple and intuitive controls. It’s a machine you’ll learn quickly and love to operate once you do. But it’s the other end of the machine where “attachment” truly becomes a thing of beauty. Just a few possibilities:
