WHEN DUCT TAPE WON’T DO… Nothing pokes a hole in an otherwise productive day like a leaky hydraulic hose. And whatever miracles the stuff might perform throughout the rest of the universe, you know Duct Tape just isn’t going to cut it. (Hey, leave that stuff for the family car!) …Of course, we kid, BUT: for the machines you use to run your business and serve your customers, there’s just no substitute for a full-length crimp, total-pro hose repair. At Martin Implement, we’re happy to let you know, we’re now doing those repairs in-house.
WHILE YOU WAIT, WE REPAIR We’ve recently procured a state of the art, Parkrimp hose repair machine. This beauty enables us to restore almost any hose to like-new look and capability. Most repairs can be accomplished in 30 minutes or less. So if your skid steer, wheel loader, or excavator needs a perfectly crimped new hose, bring it on in to Martin Implement — and scan our magazine table! — while your hose is remade to perfection.
Note that there are a few specialty hoses we’ll still need to send out, but the Parkrimp will very likely be the answer for your leaky hose. (If you have a unique hose, just call us and we’ll let you know if we can handle it.)

The Midwest and the greater Chicago area has always been a great place to live if you like a REAL WINTER: snow, sleet, ice — and now and then, a truly epic cold-front. Since so many of our customers are the folks everyone else turns to when the cold gets Arctic, we make sure at Martin Implement that we’re ready to serve our customers who are out on the front lines.
In that spirit, we thought it would be timely to share a few reminders as another Polar Express rolls into town:

Have you seen our service truck around town? You’d notice it for sure. It’s hard to miss the eye-catching Hyundai excavator and wheel loader graphics that wrap the truck. Don Mulderink, one of our seasoned service technicians, drives this one when performing equipment field service.
It’s not often for a business to be able to share their success with third generation family members. And yet, as Martin Implement celebrates its 70th year of operation, it seems that this sort of thing is almost second nature. That’s why we’re a little saddened to see Andy Novak depart our ranks. Like Tom, his father, and Art, his grandfather, Andy got his first taste of Martin Implement pushing a broom around the shop over summer school break. Along with his twin, Wade, he kept everyone around here guessing when it came to determining who’s who.
Eventually, each of the brothers formed their own identity within the company. Andy spearheaded the introduction of our Toro compact equipment line by serving as the product specialist for four years. More recently, Andy put us on the map up north when he assumed the position of Wauconda branch manager. It’s because of his willingness to take on new challenges that we’re confident that Andy will continue to succeed as he moves forward with a new endeavor. He’s set to start a 9-month apprentice program in sustainable urban agriculture that’s run by the Windy City Harvest branch of Chicago Botanic Gardens.
It’s certainly indicative of Andy’s personality to dream big. While many of us just seek to feed our families, he’s thinking of how to better feed the world! We’ll miss you partner. Hope you come around to visit from time to time. And, oh yeah, don’t forget to bring the food if you do!

New Holland’s Operation Blue and Yellow Drive sales training event was recently held in Daytona Beach for dealers throughout the US. The dealers and their New Holland colleagues gathered together for knowledge transfer and sharing of the newest equipment, innovations, and ways to continue to serve customers.
At the event, our sales manager, Brad Beaulieu, accepted a check on behalf of Martin Implement that recognized the dealership for the largest year after year increase in sales volume. Mark Hooper, New Holland North America’s Senior Director of Marketing, regards Martin Implement “at the top of the heap,” and we couldn’t be more excited. He said, “Martin Implement won because it’s about growth. And that growth is due to servicing the customer and being able to meet customer needs in a timely manner for the benefit of the customer.” It’s exactly this approach that has been at the forefront of Martin Implement’s philosophy since the business started 70 years ago.
