WHEN DUCT TAPE WON’T DO… Nothing pokes a hole in an otherwise productive day like a leaky hydraulic hose. And whatever miracles the stuff might perform throughout the rest of the universe, you know Duct Tape just isn’t going to cut it. (Hey, leave that stuff for the family car!) …Of course, we kid, BUT: for the machines you use to run your business and serve your customers, there’s just no substitute for a full-length crimp, total-pro hose repair. At Martin Implement, we’re happy to let you know, we’re now doing those repairs in-house.
WHILE YOU WAIT, WE REPAIR We’ve recently procured a state of the art, Parkrimp hose repair machine. This beauty enables us to restore almost any hose to like-new look and capability. Most repairs can be accomplished in 30 minutes or less. So if your skid steer, wheel loader, or excavator needs a perfectly crimped new hose, bring it on in to Martin Implement — and scan our magazine table! — while your hose is remade to perfection.
Note that there are a few specialty hoses we’ll still need to send out, but the Parkrimp will very likely be the answer for your leaky hose. (If you have a unique hose, just call us and we’ll let you know if we can handle it.)
The Engcon Tiltrotator is one of those innovative products that comes along every now and then and makes us all wonder how we got along before it came along. It also makes us wish we invented it! We featured the EC 204 model of this new tool at the iLandscape show and coupled it with a Hyundai R35 mini-excavator, and it was a smash-hit with our earth-moving and grade-grooming friends.
INNOVATIVE EFFICIENCY Once placed on the end of your dipper stick (or attached to your hydraulic quick coupler) the Tiltrotator offers incredible flexibility for positioning tools, enabling more work to be done without moving your excavator to get a better angle. With the combination of tilt and rotation, you can often work around or under pipes and other structural obstacles. BIG SAVINGS: in work-time, fuel, machine wear (and for some jobs, personnel), make this coupler not only a joy to use, but an inventive new source of work-site efficiency and improved ROI.
In this new series on Fully Equipped, we dive a little deeper into the benefits of some of our favorite labor-saving machines.
MULCHING MAKES IT BETTER Here’s the thing: the FECON BULL HOG mulchers can cut brush, stumps and trees up to 8 inches in diameter (cutting them down to ground level). Trees and brush truly get mulched –which means you eliminate the need to do a lot of follow-up work. Chain saws, chippers, and the people required to run them…all disappear from your job-costs, just like the BULL HOG erasing a gnarly stand of trees and tangled brushes.
RIGHT MODEL FOR THE JOB Fecon and Martin Implement offer BULL HOG models that can work beautifully when hooked up to a compact track loader (with high-flow hydraulics). We also carry their FMX BULL HOGS, which are designed to use when you have to have the greater reach of an excavator. Attaching these mulchers to tracked machines allow you to maneuver in more variable terrain than you can access with a PTO / 3 Point setup on a tractor. Check out the FMX50 in action on this video — you don’t want to try this with a tractor!
Starting February 1st and running through April 30, 1919, when you rent a Hyundai mini-excavator from us, you’ll get 8 Days A Week. That’s right: one day of additional use for every week the unit is rented*.
Safety should always come first when transporting equipment to and from the job site. If you don’t properly secure your machines, you’re risking fines, damage to the machine, injury or worse.
Having too few straps and tie-downs is a mistake, but so is overlooking worn out and damaged ones. Replacing chains and binders is a smart move and replacing them this month is even smarter because we’re knocking 20% OFF all transportation accessories. Continue reading →

WHEN THE POLAR VORTEX IS BACK, AND EVERYONE’S CLOSED BUT YOU…At Martin Implement, We’re Prepared To Help
The Midwest and the greater Chicago area has always been a great place to live if you like a REAL WINTER: snow, sleet, ice — and now and then, a truly epic cold-front. Since so many of our customers are the folks everyone else turns to when the cold gets Arctic, we make sure at Martin Implement that we’re ready to serve our customers who are out on the front lines.
In that spirit, we thought it would be timely to share a few reminders as another Polar Express rolls into town:
KNOW YOUR EQUIPMENT: A blizzard is a good time to catch up on a little reading, so it may make sense to review the cold-weather capabilities and precautions that will keep your equipment in service without unnecessary wear or damage. Our handy cold weather best practices checklist is right here — it also has our phone numbers.
The Toro Dingo line is an all-time favorite here at Martin Implement. This is a machine that’s so easy to use, and at the same time, so powerful and versatile, it’s hard to imagine what life was like before these doggies showed up in our lives. And now there’s a new leader of the pack, the DINGO TXL 2000.
S – T – R – E – T – C – H – ! There are two versions of the TXL 2000: the version pictured, with Telescoping Arms, has an incredible reach of just over 10 feet. (A 123.4″ hinge-pin height, to be exact). That means you can easily clear the side of a standard dump truck, or backfill behind a retaining wall. With a full 44” of telescoped reach, you can also completely unload a flat-bed truck from one side. The Non-Telescoping version is no slouch either: with a hinge-pin height of 98.6″and a dump height of 64.1″. Either way, you…can…put it on the board: the new TXL 2000 takes the stand-up skid-steer category to new levels of productivity and versatility.
