Late Summer / early Fall is the best time of year to overseed your lawn. It’s a time when the heat cools off, but the soil is still warm enough to encourage seed germination. Take a look at your lawn – is it looking as full as you’d like it to? Not everyone needs to overseed, as we discussed in our article on the finer points of overseeding. In fact, you may only need to overseed your lawn once every few years. With this extra-hot Summer, though, more and more people are looking to give their lawn a little extra care.
Our Rental Department employs a number of seeders in different sizes and for different applications. For example, we’ve got Land Pride overseeders in 48 inch and 72 inch widths, as well as 72 inch primary seeders. Primary seeders come into play if you’re seeding for the first time while overseeders are used to plant seed over existing grass.
Recently, we added a 72 inch Land Pride all-purpose seeder, which combines a primary seeder and an overseeder into one convenient package. With this machine, you can control the down pressure of the front rollers (which cut through the hardened top soil layer) depending on whether you’re seeding for the first time or not.
Renting is a great option for seeding because, as we mentioned above, it’s not necessarily something you do every year. For those who are seeding once every few years, our Rental Department may be the perfect solution. For more info on the equipment we rent check out the rental page on our website.
