Our Product Spotlight is the Fecon mulcher for excavators. We pair the model FMX50 with a Kubota KX080 excavator for our rental fleet! Roadside clearing of brush and trees on the tree line? We think you’ll like the productivity of this combo.
We get people calling from all over asking to rent the Fecon Mulcher attachment because it’s hard to find a mulcher that can tear up 8-inch trees while attached to a track loader. Those results plus portability make it an in-demand attachment. Due to their popularity, our Rental Department has worked up a new special on them. From right now until the end of February, rent a Fecon mulcher compact track loader combo for one day and get half off the second day!*
Landscape Contractors! Arborists! Municipalities! Take a look at three of the go-to tree care equipment options in our rental fleet.
Fecon Bull Hog forestry mulchers rule their class when it comes to brush clearing. These mulchers can cut brush, stumps, and trees up to 8 inches in diameter (cutting them down to ground level) when hooked up to a high flow skid steer. Our 74-inch mulcher has a max flow of 45 gallons per minute and a mouth full of double carbide teeth that have no trouble getting through most wood material. The Bull Hog requires more hydraulic power than most attachments, so we hook it up to a compact track loader with enhanced high flow hydraulics. Continue reading
It’s time to breakout the lawn and tree equipment that’s been hibernating in your garage the past six months. All those pieces you forgot about this winter – mowers, trimmers, chain saws – need to be unthawed and prepped for the upcoming season. Now is also a great time to review safety measures for operating equipment. It’s good practice to go over these each year because no matter how much experience you have equipment features change all the time and it’s just not worth the risk of injury to you or your operators.
Tree Care Industry Magazine has an article in this month’s issue on chain saw safety, which any saw operator knows is a number one priority. Chain saws are dangerous things in the hands of an inexperienced operator so they’ve got a few tips to remember next time you fire up your saw. The article covers the essentials: kickback, proper operating and starting techniques and a review of newer safety features that come standard on saws. It’s good stuff so check it out:

You can spend all day splitting wood by hand, but all that’s going to come out of that is a small pile of wood and a sore back. The Toro LS-9 log splitter is designed to turn your log pile into usable firewood quickly and easily, saving you time and physical strain. The 28-ton splitter is easy to use, with a simple operating lever that runs the 9 inch wedge, which cuts through logs no problem. The machine is also safe and versatile – it can be operated horizontally or vertically and catch plates on either side help save your toes from falling wood. It might seem like a luxury item, but once you’ve used a machine like this you’ll never go back to the axe. Continue reading
There are a lot of innovations in chain saws today that aren’t being used by industry professionals – especially when it comes to chains. That’s what we gathered from a recent article in the July 2013 issue of Tree Care Industry Magazine (a great resource for anyone in the tree biz). The story, Today’s Saw Chains Are a Far Cry from Granddad’s, covered all the ins and outs of modern chains, and as a dealer of both Stihl and Echo brand chain saws, we thought it would be nice to share.
