Associated Equipment Distributors (AED) has technical assessments that will assist you in measuring the skills of existing service techs or job applicants. The assessments are tailored to meet the needs of the equipment industry. We use the assessments up front in the hiring process to help us make the right hire.
The questions on the assessment evaluate technicians’ knowledge in subject areas such as diesel engine, power trains, hydraulics/hydrostatics, and more. They were created by a team of technical experts broadly representing, manufacturers, dealers and technical colleges with equipment programs and are aligned with AED National Construction Equipment Technical Standards. Chances are you’ve seen Andy behind the wheel of our delivery truck since he’s been traversing the roads for us since 1994. In addition to knowing our service area like the back of his hand, Andy’s maintained an exemplary safety record; ensuring that equipment is not only delivered in a timely fashion, but also without incident. When he’s not making deliveries, Andy can be found in our service shop performing equipment maintenance, set-up and basic repairs. Befitting an earlier career as a carpenter, Brian has a passion for constructing things. That’s why when Brian joined Martin Implement’s South Elgin branch in 2009, he had already mastered the challenges of an equipment service technician due in large part to his analytic mind and nine years turning wrenches at the Payline West dealership. With his experience and know-how, Brian’s able to work on anything that comes through the doors of our shop. In a profession being rapidly shaped by technology, Brian continually remains ahead of the curve and is an admirable mentor to our newest team members. Continue reading
