It’s likely not a coincidence that a person with French ancestry, like Greg Guimond, would wind up settling in the town of Bourbonnais. And so perhaps it was also preordained that Greg’s travels would lead him to a long and prosperous career at Martin Implement Sales. Greg found his calling in equipment parts, not long out of high school. After cutting his teeth in the business with local Massey Ferguson and Ford dealers, Greg came north to Orland Park in 1984 to be part of the Martin Implement team. We use Fluid Film on our rental equipment. Sometimes our machines go out for a full season, and we’ll get a machine back that doesn’t look so good. That’s why we prep them with rust protection, which we apply to areas on a machine that get a lot of exposure – areas like the undercarriage and the wheels and axles. The time it takes to add Fluid Film to a machine does pay off. Snow removal is hard on our equipment, and this helps keep it looking new and protected from damage. We use the stuff, our Parts Department sells the stuff, and our shop can apply the stuff if you need a hand. If you’re more of a DIY-er check out our “How To” video, starring one of our very own expert technicians:
We keep a large inventory of blades for different types of mower
Do you stock parts for your mower fleet? Many people do, but some folks worry about stocking parts they won’t need. They don’t want to “gamble” on inventory, so instead they wait until something breaks before heading out to the store to buy. We see advantages and disadvantages on both sides, but one major flaw in not buying ahead is this: you’ll miss out on pre-season discounts!Continue reading →
