Have you seen our service truck around town? You’d notice it for sure. It’s hard to miss the eye-catching Hyundai excavator and wheel loader graphics that wrap the truck. Don Mulderink, one of our seasoned service technicians, drives this one when performing equipment field service.
It’s not often for a business to be able to share their success with third generation family members. And yet, as Martin Implement celebrates its 70th year of operation, it seems that this sort of thing is almost second nature. That’s why we’re a little saddened to see Andy Novak depart our ranks. Like Tom, his father, and Art, his grandfather, Andy got his first taste of Martin Implement pushing a broom around the shop over summer school break. Along with his twin, Wade, he kept everyone around here guessing when it came to determining who’s who.
Eventually, each of the brothers formed their own identity within the company. Andy spearheaded the introduction of our Toro compact equipment line by serving as the product specialist for four years. More recently, Andy put us on the map up north when he assumed the position of Wauconda branch manager. It’s because of his willingness to take on new challenges that we’re confident that Andy will continue to succeed as he moves forward with a new endeavor. He’s set to start a 9-month apprentice program in sustainable urban agriculture that’s run by the Windy City Harvest branch of Chicago Botanic Gardens.
It’s certainly indicative of Andy’s personality to dream big. While many of us just seek to feed our families, he’s thinking of how to better feed the world! We’ll miss you partner. Hope you come around to visit from time to time. And, oh yeah, don’t forget to bring the food if you do!
Our sales manager, Brad Beaulieu, and the check from New Holland
New Holland’s Operation Blue and Yellow Drive sales training event was recently held in Daytona Beach for dealers throughout the US. The dealers and their New Holland colleagues gathered together for knowledge transfer and sharing of the newest equipment, innovations, and ways to continue to serve customers.
At the event, our sales manager, Brad Beaulieu, accepted a check on behalf of Martin Implement that recognized the dealership for the largest year after year increase in sales volume. Mark Hooper, New Holland North America’s Senior Director of Marketing, regards Martin Implement “at the top of the heap,” and we couldn’t be more excited. He said, “Martin Implement won because it’s about growth. And that growth is due to servicing the customer and being able to meet customer needs in a timely manner for the benefit of the customer.” It’s exactly this approach that has been at the forefront of Martin Implement’s philosophy since the business started 70 years ago. Thanks New Holland for the opportunity to serve you well!

This is great stuff: our very own Brad Beaulieu headed down to Brazil during the World Cup with his church group to play soccer with local kids and build the community with help from an area church. They got to do great work in areas that needed help and also got to enjoy some exciting soccer. Check out this video featuring their group from the Associated Press:
Have you tried browsing our used inventory on our website? It’s a great way to check out equipment from the comfort of your own home! Learn how to apply beautiful beds of mulch with the Finn bark blowers
It’s back by popular demand, and it’s going to be better than ever! Just last March we hosted a pair of Finn open houses at our Orland Park and South Elgin stores and the turnout was so great we’re bringing them back again! Just like last year we’ll have our expert Finn reps on hand with the latest equipment Finn has to offer and we’ll be giving hands-on demos and operator training. Watching bark blowers and hydroseeders up close in action is a great way to learn for those new to the Finn line and those familiar with it will enjoy the chance to speak directly to the Finn folks who know these machines like the back of their hands.
The first open house will be in Orland Park on Wednesday, March 19th and the South Elgin session will happen the next day – Thursday March 20th. RSVP to the Orland Park open house HERE or the South Elgin session HERE. Let us know your name, company and how many people you plan on bringing to the event. Registration will begin at 9am, activities at 9:30. We’ll be done for the day around 12:30 and we’re serving lunch!
