This winter New Holland introduced a bigger radial lift skid steer: the L221. We got our hands on one and decided to see how it compares to the other radial lift skids in New Holland’s fleet. We’ve had both L213 and L215 skid steers in the past and really liked their productivity, so we were excited to test the newest model.
The L221 is equipped with a 74 hp engine and a 2,100 lb. operating capacity. That makes it by far the most powerful of the radial lift skid class. Radial lift skid steers have an advantage over vertical lifts in a few areas like forward reach, which make it an ideal machine for pushing, grading or clearing brush. The engine and lift specs put it right in between the L220 and L223, both vertical lift models. If you’ve got any questions on which type of skid steer is best for you give our sales department a call and we’ll get you pointed in the right direction. Some prefer radial, some vertical, but in the end the work you’re doing will help decide. Continue reading
