It’s big, it’s yellow and it’s got power and productivity written all over it.
The Kobelco SK260 excavator is our newest addition to the fleet and we like what we’ve seen so far. It’s got a lot of intuitive design and common sense features that make sense to us, as well as smart technology that maximizes efficiency without skimping on plain old POWER. It’s got a 181 horsepower Tier IV diesel engine, 23 foot max digging depth and, with the help of Kobelco’s Power Boost™ feature, a bucket breakout force of 41,117 lbs (SAE). Power Boost gives 10% more bucket breakout on command when you need it and without time constraints so you can use it as long as you need it.
Kobelco touts their machines as powerful and productive, but with better fuel efficiency than their competitors. That’s because they run a Tier IV Interim system with selective catalytic reduction, which is a fancy way of saying you get great fuel economy without sacrificing performance.
One more thing we like is the amount of smart features that make the operator’s experience just a little easier. We’re talking about little things like a rearview camera and a comfy operator’s seat, but also important features like great visibility and easy-to-access service areas.
We’re excited about it, and we think our customers will be too! If you want to see this thing in person, just give us a call!
